Heavy Plant Fitter

About the Company I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Plant Fitter / Mechanical Engineer to join an established team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical knowledge, a hands-on approach, and experience working with plant, machinery, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, or commercial vehicles. About the Role Working within a busy workshop environment, you'll be responsible for keeping a range of plant and machinery operating safely and efficiently. Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on plant and machinery.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
• Identifying faults and carrying out effective repairs.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Following all relevant health and safety procedures.
• Working independently while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship. Qualifications
• Relevant mechanical qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience. Required Skills
• Valid driving licence.
• Previous experience in a mechanical or Plant Fitter position.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Experience working with construction equipment, agricultural machinery, plant, or commercial vehicles. Preferred Skills
• Proven experience within a Plant Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Agricultural Engineer, or similar mechanical role.
• Practical, reliable, and confident diagnosing faults and working on a variety of mechanical systems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, particularly given the fast-paced nature of the workshop. Pay range and compensation package
• Plant Fitter / Mechanical Engineer £25 per hour.
• 40 hour working week.
• Overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours.
• Competitive rate of pay.
• Enhanced overtime rates.
• 30 days' annual leave.
• Additional annual leave for long service.
• Christmas shutdown.
