Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

Lead Mechanical Design Engineer – Hertfordshire | Up to £80,000 DOE I'm working on an opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer to join an established engineering business in Hertfordshire, taking a senior technical role in the development of complex electromechanical products. This is a hands-on position for someone who can take ownership of mechanical design from initial concept through to prototyping, testing and manufacture, while providing technical guidance and support to a relatively junior engineering team. You'll be involved across the product development lifecycle, combining detailed design work with engineering analysis, problem-solving and technical decision-making. I'm particularly interested in speaking with engineers who have experience in:

• Mechanical design and product development, from concept through to production
• 3D CAD, detailed design and engineering drawings
• Hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, pressure systems or flow-related equipment
• Engineering calculations, design analysis and validation
• Prototyping, hands-on build, testing and fault-finding
• Design for manufacture, including castings, machined components and fabricated parts
• Working with complex or high-integrity mechanical products
• Technical leadership, design reviews and mentoring junior engineers I'm looking for someone with strong practical engineering ability who can operate autonomously, make sound design decisions and act as a technical point of reference for the wider team.
