The U.S. Mission to the United Kingdom is hiring a Warehouse Operative to join the General Services Office (GSO) at the Embassy Warehouse in West Hendon. This is a permanent, full-time job with an international diplomatic mission. You'll make sure Embassy offices, homes and official events have what they need, when they need it. Why You'll Love This Role
- You'll work in diplomacy without leaving London. Your work supports the U.S. Mission to the United Kingdom, and you'll see what goes on behind the scenes when official visits and events happen.
- Where you'll work will be varied. You'll split your time between the warehouse floor, the road and sites across London, with tasks that range from operating a forklift to helping with event set-up.

- Load and unload furniture, appliances and supplies between vans, trucks and the warehouse
- Deliver to embassy offices, residences and other sites across London, driving official vehicles when needed
- Use forklifts, trolleys and lifting equipment to move heavy items safely
- Pack and deliver welcome kits that help new arrivals settle in
- Track inventory by keeping warehouse logs, running annual stock counts and inspecting residential property for damage or loss
- Keep the warehouse safe, secure and tidy with regular safety inspections
- Support official visits and events by setting up control rooms, safeguarding property and escorting visitors and contractors What We're Looking For
- At least 2 years of experience in manual labour or warehouse work
- Good working English (speaking, reading and writing)
- Good working knowledge of warehouse operations, procedures and security standards, efficient use of storage space, and inventory and stacking
- Safe operation of forklifts, hand trolleys and electronic lifters (you do not need to have a forklift license to be eligible for this role)
- A valid full manual UK/EU/EEA driving licence for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes Please note, this role will involve handling heavy objects, including lifting up to 23 kg (51 lbs). Ready to Apply?
