BUILD COMMUNITIES. MAKE CONTENT PEOPLE CARE ABOUT. We're looking for an experienced Social Media & Community Manager who understands that a strong social presence starts with understanding the people behind the likes, comments and shares. Someone who can plan great content, build relationships with creators and keep conversations moving. Who knows when to respond, when to listen and when a community conversation could become a brilliant piece of content. You will lead on client strategy across social planning, content creation and creator partnerships, as well as working with clients to build active, engaged communities, managing the day to day across their core social channels. ABOUT CRAVENS We're Cravens. The Original Independent. We help organisations move further, faster through Creatively-Charged Alignment. Bringing strategy, creativity and production together to align people, strengthen brands and grow businesses. From our North East roots, we work with clients around the world across brand, advertising, content and experience. Our work brings together Heart & Bite: meaningful thinking and the creative craft to make it matter. THE ROLE You'll take day-to-day responsibility for client social channels and community, working closely with our strategy, creative, production and account teams. That means turning plans into a consistent flow of engaging content, getting to know the audience and community, and helping their expertise and experiences become part of the brand's story. You'll liaise with European partner agencies to share plans, assets and learnings, helping keep activity aligned while making room for local audiences and ideas. Across all clients, you'll bring a combination of organisation, creative instinct and audience understanding to content planning and creator management. WHAT YOU'LL DO Manage and grow communities:

  • Manage day-to-day publishing, comments, messages and moderation across agreed client channels.
  • Build relationships with followers, brand experts and creators through thoughtful, timely conversations.
  • Spot opportunities to celebrate community stories, share user-generated content and encourage participation.
  • Handle questions confidently, working with client teams on product queries, sensitive issues and anything requiring escalation.
  • Maintain each brand's tone of voice and make people feel heard. Plan and create content:
  • Develop and manage content calendars that connect brand priorities with audience interests.
  • Bring ideas for recurring formats, useful content, timely conversations and platform trends.
  • Write captions and briefs, schedule posts and manage approval processes.
  • Work with our creative and production teams to deliver content suited to each platform.
  • Capture and edit simple social content yourself, including phone-shot video, Stories and event coverage. Build creator relationships:
  • Identify creators whose audiences, expertise and style fit each brand.
  • Develop clear briefs and shape ideas with creators while preserving their individual voice.
  • Coordinate outreach, deliverables, feedback, approvals and deadlines.
  • Work with account and production teams to agree fees, permissions, usage rights and disclosure requirements.
  • Review performance and build productive, ongoing relationships. Keep teams aligned:
  • Be a regular point of contact both internally and with external partners, for client social activity.
  • Share calendars, campaign assets, creator approaches and performance learnings.
  • Coordinate with client and agency teams so everyone knows what's happening and what's needed.
  • Manage priorities across accounts, keeping delivery organised and expectations clear. Learn and improve:
  • Track content and community performance against agreed objectives.
  • Turn reporting into clear recommendations for what to continue, change or test.
  • Look beyond follower numbers to understand engagement, community quality and meaningful audience actions.
  • Stay curious about platform changes, emerging formats and audience behaviour. WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Experience managing social channels and communities for brands, either in an agency or in-house.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to adapt your tone for different audiences.
  • A good understanding of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube, and what makes content work on each.
  • Experience sourcing, briefing and managing content creators.
  • Confidence in creating and editing straightforward social video.
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage several workstreams.
  • Confidence communicating with clients, creators and partner agencies.
  • Comfort using publishing, moderation and analytics tools, and turning data into useful decisions.
  • Sound judgement about brand reputation, permissions and when to escalate an issue. Experience with trade audiences, European markets and the relationship between organic and paid social would be useful. Above all, you'll be curious about people and interested in the communities you're helping to build. This is a 12-month fixed-term, hybrid role, with three days a week in our Newcastle office and two from home. WHY CRAVENS? You'll have the opportunity to help shape how our clients show up on social, with the support of an experienced strategy, creative and production team. There's room to bring ideas, develop new formats and build lasting relationships with the people who make these communities worth being part of. INTERESTED? Apply here with a short covering letter added to the front of your CV. In it, include links to a few examples of social content, communities or creator projects you've helped develop, what you contributed to each, and why this role appeals to you.
