Are you are looking for a change, a new challenge and career development...this may be the opportunity you are looking for.

We are looking for 1 DN/SCN to take on a short term leadership role in the NSG team until the 31st March 2027. This is a learning opportunity for a current band 5 looking to progress in their nursing career. You will lead a community nursing team within a multi professional environment.

To excel in this role, you will require excellent communication skills, the courage to make decisions which will help shape future care and a willingness to develop your potential. You will require community nursing experience, a sound knowledge of evidence-based community care and best practice, evidence of post-registration development, the competence and confidence to advocate for patients regarding complex situations and the ability to work over a shift system which delivers service between 8am and 8pm across 7 days, including weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

We seek nurses with passion and commitment who hold patient experience and care at the heart of their nursing practice and share our organisational values. In return we offer you day to day supportalong with excellent training and a real commitment to your personal development plan with opportunities for continued professional development and study.

You will be joining us at an exciting time, as we move towards a model of 'named nursing' in the community- enabling person-led, progressive care. We are a fully integrated service working with MDT colleagues in clusters to deliver care around the placed based model fit for the future.

About us

We have a skilled and dedicated workforce of over 5000 colleagues working in a diverse range of services over 55 sites and within people's homes. We strive to enable a welcoming workplace culture that builds and celebrates civility, inclusivity and diversity, while providing a sense of belonging and trust.

Annual staff surveys, regular Pulse surveys and other engagement opportunities provide our people with lots of opportunity to tell us about their experiences of working with us. In the latest staff survey, 61% of colleagues gave us their views. It was great to hear that:

  • 72% of colleagues would recommend the Trust as a place to work, ranking us 1st for Provider Trusts in the South West region on this question.
  • 76% would recommend the standard of care provided in our services if a friend or relative needed treatment, also ranking us 1st in the South West region.
  • 81% said that care of patients and service users is the Trust's priority, compared with an average in comparable NHS Trusts in England of 64%.

This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.
