National Health Service (UK)

Are you looking for a finance role that offers variety, flexibility and the opportunity to develop specialist skills?

We are seeking a Finance Officer (Capital and Charitable Funds) to join our friendly and experienced Systems, Reporting and Planning Team. Reporting to the Head of Finance (Systems, Reporting and Planning), you will play an important role in supporting the Trust's capital programme, fixed asset accounting and charitable funds, helping ensure resources are managed effectively to support patient care.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with home working supported and attendance at Kings Court 2, Worcester expected typically 1 to 2 days per week, with additional office attendance required at key times.

Joining our team means becoming part of a supportive, collaborative and high-performing finance function that is committed to developing its people. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their technical finance experience, build specialist knowledge and develop a rewarding long-term career within the NHS.

Main duties of the job

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will take ownership of the Trust's charitable funds and play a key part in supporting the financial management of our multi-million pound capital programme. Working closely with colleagues across Finance, Estates and operational services, you will become the first point of contact for charitable funds, providing advice, support and financial information to fund holders and stakeholders across the organisation.

No two days are the same. You will be involved in financial reporting, reconciliations, year-end processes, problem solving and investigating financial queries, whilst ensuring accurate and timely information is available to support decision making and statutory reporting requirements. The role offers the opportunity to work autonomously, manage your own workload and identify opportunities to improve financial systems and processes.

This role would suit someone with finance experience who is looking to broaden their technical knowledge, gain exposure to specialist areas including capital accounting and charitable funds, and develop a career in NHS finance. You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships across the organisation whilst contributing to the effective management of resources that ultimately support patient care.
