About You

About the Team

The Power BI team in the Business Technology group sits at the intersection of data engineering, analytics development, and stakeholder communication across Warburg Pincus. The team owns hundreds of dashboards built on a modern enterprise data platform. We work daily with operating and investing professionals to build valuable insights.

Role Summary

We're looking for a Business Analyst / Project Manager to support one or more workstreams on the Power BI team. This is a hybrid analyst/PM role: you'll help translate business requirements into clear technical specs, track delivery across GitHub and FreshService, and coordinate between developers, QA, and business stakeholders. It's a strong fit for someone early in their career who wants exposure to private equity data, enterprise BI delivery, and cross-functional project management.

What You'll Do

  • Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders in Fund Accounting, Portfolio Analytics, and other business teams
  • Translate requirements into well-structured GitHub issues (user stories, bugs, research items) and maintain workstream boards
  • Support end-to-end delivery tracking - from intake through QA to production release - using GitHub Projects and FreshService change management (CMRs)
  • Partner with Power BI developers and QA to validate report logic, data definitions, and acceptance criteria
  • Help maintain data glossaries and documentation for semantic models and dashboards
  • Prepare status updates, meeting notes, and lightweight reporting for stakeholders and leadership
  • Join and contribute to testing/UAT cycles ahead of releases

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 5 years of experience in a business analyst, project coordinator, or related analytical role (internships count)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - comfortable writing clear requirements and talking to both technical and business stakeholders
  • Solid Excel skills; comfort working with structured data
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple concurrent workstreams
  • A proactive, curious mindset - willing to ask questions and dig into the "why" behind a request

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Power BI, SQL, or other BI/data tooling
  • Familiarity with GitHub, Azure Devops, Jira, or similar issue-tracking / project management tools
  • Interest in or exposure to private equity, financial services, or fund reporting concepts (e.g., NAV, IRR, MOIC)
  • Prior experience working with offshore/external development or QA teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field

Why Join

  • Direct exposure to enterprise-scale BI delivery
  • Mentorship from experienced BA/PMs and hands-on learning across the full data & reporting lifecycle
  • A collaborative, fast-paced team culture that values ownership and continuous improvement
