Mentorship Programme Lead - Volunteer
at Time to Give NetworkHelp us validate and shape a new organisational mentorship platform. We need an experienced mentoring, L&D or programme professional to speak with prospective users, identify the strongest use cases and pilots, and help determine what organisations genuinely need. What difference will you make? This project will help us answer an important question where can Time to Give Network's mentorship capability create the greatest real-world value? We believe there is considerable potential, particularly around employment, employability and professional development. However, we do not want to invest limited organisational and development resources based solely on our own assumptions. Your contribution will help us validate the opportunity through independent conversations with prospective users, understand their priorities and identify where there is genuine demand. That insight could enable us to identify pilot organisations, refine our route to market and ensure our technology team focuses on features that solve demonstrated problems. A successful mentorship proposition could ultimately enable organisations to facilitate large numbers of valuable professional relationships. Those relationships could support employment, career development, knowledge transfer, inclusion, confidence, employee engagement and many other outcomes. Equally importantly, good validation may identify areas we should not pursue. Helping us make those decisions is itself valuable. At the end of the project, we want a much clearer understanding of the strongest use cases, target organisations, potential pilots and practical route forward. What are we looking for? We are looking for an experienced professional who understands mentoring programmes and is comfortable taking ownership of an early-stage proposition that still needs to be tested and refined. You will ideally have at least three years' professional experience in one or more of
- Corporate mentoring programmes
- Learning and development
- Talent development
- Employability or employment programmes
- Programme management
- HR or people development
- Social-impact programmes
- Corporate partnerships
- Product or proposition development
- Management consulting Experience designing, procuring, running or evaluating mentoring programmes would be particularly valuable. The most important qualities are curiosity, independence, sound judgement and the ability to turn conversations into useful insight. We do not need someone to validate what we already think. We want someone prepared to challenge our assumptions and help us understand what prospective users genuinely need. You should be comfortable speaking with senior stakeholders, asking good questions and identifying patterns across different conversations. You will also need to move from research into practical recommendations identifying promising use cases, recognising potential pilot organisations and translating feedback into decisions about the proposition and product. Experience taking a new programme, service or proposition from concept through validation or pilot stage would therefore be particularly useful. You do not need to be technically minded. Our development team can build or adapt what is required. Your value will be in helping us determine what organisations actually need, for whom and why. Above all, you should enjoy taking ownership of an ambiguous project and turning it into something clearer and actionable Remote What will you be doing? Time to Give Network is a UK Community Interest Company built around a simple belief professional experience, relationships and access can be used to create meaningful social value. Alongside our fundraising platform, we have developed a separate mentorship solution for organisations. It is designed to help organisations create structured mentoring communities, match mentors and mentees, support different types of mentoring relationships and measure participation and impact. The technology already exists in an early form. Our technology team can adapt it where genuine requirements are identified. What we now need is an experienced Mentorship Programme Lead who can take ownership of validating the opportunity from a programme and market perspective. Rather than continuing to develop the proposition based on our own assumptions, we want to understand what prospective users actually need. Over a period of up to six months, you could help us
- Review the current mentorship proposition and platform
- Identify the strongest potential use cases and target organisations
- Speak with prospective corporate, educational, public-sector and not-for-profit users
- Gather structured third-party feedback
- Understand what organisations genuinely need from a mentorship solution
- Test assumptions around programme design, matching, reporting and implementation
- Identify potential pilot organisations
- Help develop and structure pilot programmes
- Refine our proposition based on market feedback
- Recommend what we should – and should not – build next
- Help determine the most credible route to market We see particular potential around employment, employability and professional development, while recognising that mentorship can take many forms and generate many different outcomes. This is a genuine opportunity to take ownership of an early-stage initiative and influence its future direction.
